Considering Crawling

Isaiah has been the first one to actually assume the crawling position.  Today I managed to snap a quick picture of him making his move.  He is not crawling, but its a step in the right direction. Usually if they get themselves up on their knees they have their heads buried in the carpet like little ostriches.  He has done this only a few times.  Atticus has not tried this yet.  Dan thinks that this may be due to the size of his head.  :)
Here's what Isaiah looked like today:

Once they start crawling I hope that we will be moved closer to the top of everyone's prayer list.  :)

Photo Session

It's been a few weeks since I took posed pictures of the kids together.  I have been trying to take pictures of them in the same spot on the couch every few weeks to document their growth.  They are pretty photogenic, but the older they get, the harder it is to get them to stay still.  Here is a sequence of pictures from that session that are pretty humorous.

50 pictures and this is the best one that I could get...maybe I will have better luck this week!

Where are you?

Atticus and Isaiah provide me with hours of entertainment.  A few months ago they began to notice each other and it was so neat to watch.  Of course now that they are grabbing, biting, kicking and pulling each other's hair I feel like I am a full time referee.  Yesterday Isaiah rolled over to the exersaucer where Atticus was playing.  He rolled so close to the exersaucer that Atticus had a hard time seeing him.  Atticus had to lean over as far as he could  to see Isaiah. This made Isaiah squeal with delight.

We are so thankful that God gave them to us!

Preparing for Take off

This year the Adams will be embarking on their first family vacation.  We are renting a cabin at Hunting Island State Park for a week.  I have been slowly gathering things for the trip which will be in the middle of May.  I have been scouting for a good beach tent to help provide some much needed shade for my fair skinned babies.  Today our tent arrived in the mail.  I set it up in the living room and the boys really enjoyed exploring!  If they don't like the beach they will at least enjoy the tent.

We also bought some hats for our trip.  Isaiah really likes to wear his hat.  Atticus likes to rip his hat off and eat it.  I think that I will try to get them to wear their hats on our daily walks in an effort to get them used to them.  We will see if this works.  Here are pictures of what they look like in their hats.  Side note:  Atticus and Isaiah have been battling a rash on their faces for almost a month.  Isaiah had it first and then shared it with Atticus.  Atticus is still recovering, hence the faint rash on his chin.

Just like Daddy

Dan is probably the most obsessively organized person that I know.  This behavior comes out even more whenever I approach any piece of technology in our house.  For instance whenever I used to use our computer Dan would constantly remind me not to touch the computer screen. (For fun I used to pretend to touch it just to watch him wince.)
But now that we have Atticus and Isaiah the rules are changing.  The kids love technology, especially cell phones and laptop screens.  For fun yesterday Dan let them play on the laptop...they ended up opening a lot of applications, slobbering/biting the speakers and touching the screen numerous times.  I am learning that there are lots of perks to having kids. It will be awesome when they can unload the dishwasher!

Brangelina twins spotted!

Believe it or not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were in Augusta a few weeks ago. Our friend Craig was able to snap a quick photo of them. And who says there's nothing cool happening in Augusta?!

Foot wrestling

Our kids are no doubt very talented.  We have discovered that they enjoy playing games with each other.  Their latest game was discovered by Dan one night during dinner.  The kids were being fussy, so he turned them towards each other in their high chairs.  They really enjoyed this and kept each other amused while we ate.  So now when I am cooking dinner I bring them in the kitchen and situate them like this:

This usually keeps them occupied until Dan gets home.  He then becomes their source of entertainment.  We love watching them interact with each other.  Here is an up-close picture of their foot wrestling:

From this angle it looks like Isaiah is dominating...must get that from Dan's side of the family.

Embracing the Inevitable

After having the kids I probably became the most paranoid person on the planet...just ask Dan.

"Carrie's desires to protect our children are well intentioned but misguided when it comes to modern forms of communication." - Dan

So after much soul searching I realized a few things:
  1. We are very popular and there are a lot of people that want to know about our lives.
  2. We have the cutest kids on the planet which is the only reason we are currently popular.
  3. With the vastness of the information age the odds of our blog being read by complete strangers are slim to none.
  4. This is probably the easiest way for our long distance family and friends to keep up with us.
So stay tuned for updates on the lives of The Adams Family. Peace out.
