Rainy Days and New Tricks

We have been getting afternoon showers here in Augusta almost everyday this week. The boys are just at the right height where they can see out the window. Yesterday during a rain storm I took a few pictures of them.

They really love banging on the glass

From my point of view

They have also been working on pulling up and standing. Yesterday I managed to get pictures of them standing up for a few seconds. They are getting more confident in their standing capabilities every day.

Swings and Things

Atticus and Isaiah got new swings from Grandmother and Granddaddy this past weekend. Dan was able to hang the swings up on our porch on Monday night so Tuesday morning after breakfast we tried them out. They really loved it! They giggled and laughed while I pushed them. We had to stop after twenty minutes because it was starting to put Isaiah to sleep. Here are some pictures of our swinging time. My apologies about the swing pictures- they didn't turn out that great.

Atticus has rediscovered his bouncy seat. He has learned how to get in it and stand up in it backwards. He has chosen to do this several times while I was changing Isaiah's diaper...so the bouncy seat is no longer in the nursery. Here are some pictures of Dan and Atticus playing in the bouncy seat.

Atticus our daredevil

Yesterday while I was changing Isaiah in the nursery Atticus decided to crawl into the boys little Moses basket which is usually full of stuffed animals (notice how Atticus knows when I am too busy to get to him). He dumped a few out to make room for himself and dove right in.

Everyday brings a new adventure, we are so thankful for our happy, healthy boys.

Ice Ice Baby

You know that you are a grown up when buying a freezer make you giddy.  That is exactly how I felt on Saturday when I met my dad at Sears to pick up my freezer.  Dan and I have been having the freezer debate for quite sometime.  I make and freeze the kid's baby food, so I really needed the extra room.  It will also be really great to open the freezer door and not have a carton of ice cream fall on my foot.  I have been thinking of all of the wonderful things that I can do now that I have freezer space,  really the possibilities are endless.  Dan doesn't really get why this freezer makes me so happy...but he let me get one anyway.  Just one of the many reasons why I married him.  So Dan, my dad and his truck helped my dreams become a reality on Saturday.
Dan spent Saturday morning reorganizing the garage to make room for the freezer.  He did a great job and the freezer looks awesome out there.  The kids got the best part of the whole deal- a huge box to play in until it falls apart.  :)  Here are some pictures of the beloved freezer and the box.

Visiting Claire

This past weekend we made the trip to Birmingham to see my new niece Claire.  I had the great idea that we would bath, feed and put the boys in the car and then drive to Birmingham.  I believed that this would be a perfect plan- they would sleep the whole way there...I was wrong. Very wrong!  They cried a good bit of the trip because they were tired and could not get comfy.  I was a little frazzled by the time we arrived in Birmingham...but one look at Claire made the whole cry fest worth it!  She is so beautiful!  I forget how small babies are at first- it was even more shocking to realize that my boys were half her size when they were born.  When we pulled up to the door Tim walked out with Claire- it was love at first sight.  :)  I love being an aunt and it was just so great to spend time with Tim, Leia and Claire.  After we got the boys settled into bed we got the chance to really hang out with Claire.  She is a calm, sweet girl with the cutest expressions.  Tim and Leia are both so enthralled with her- as all good parents are with their children.  Leia was good about sharing Claire with us...Tim on the other hand was a mess!  I had to keep begging to hold her.  :)  He is a great dad- just not the best on sharing.
We tried to be as helpful as we could with two busy boys of our own.  I am glad that we were able to go over and spend some time with them since we missed her birth.  In hindsight it was nice to go on a different weekend than everyone else so that I could have her all to myself- I am not good at sharing either!  I can't wait until we get to see her again!
The weather was so nice that we went on several walks throughout the day.  Claire really likes to sleep in her stroller- Tim joked that he was going to try to stroll her around the house when she wouldn't sleep at night.  Leia even went on a walk with us one afternoon- she is super mom!  The boys really loved exploring their house...they showed them all the fun things that Claire will be getting into in a few months!  It was a great visit and we can't wait until we get to see them again!

Little Drummer Boys

Atticus and Isaiah love playing the drums with their Daddy.  Sometimes in the evening before bath time Daniel will let them play for a few minutes.  They really love the drum sticks, especially Atticus.  They take turns sitting on Dan's lap and watching him play.  They also like to crawl around on the floor and play with the pedals and the bass drum.  Here are a few shots of their most recent drum lesson.

Swimming and Grilling

Yesterday Dan and I went with the boys to my sister's house.  We went swimming and grilled out for lunch.  The boys even took a nap there- Thomas was nice enough to share his room with them for a few hours.  It was a lot of fun watching Thomas in the water- he has no fear!  Katherine and her friend Janelle played in the water for a long time.  Dan enjoyed harassing them with a water gun and buckets of water.  This was Dan's first time in the pool with Atticus and Isaiah.  I have taken the boys to the pool before but Dan was always at work.  He enjoyed the time that he got to spend with them.  It was also great catching up with Becky and Ryan.  Even though we all live in the same town we have a hard time getting to really talk because of our kids.  :)

Then and Now

The other day I started to think about how Atticus and Isaiah used to play with their toys and how they play with these same toys now.  I have often thought that they might be outgrowing certain toys, but they seem to come up with new ways to play with them.  Here are a few examples of how their play time has evolved.  Side note:  Looking back through old pictures of the kids made me cry...I can't believe how fast they have grown!
